The holiday Villa is based in the Algarve 20 kilometres to the East of Faro and 15 minutes West of Tavira. The Location is absolutely ideal for visiting anywhere along the Algarve coast and also into South Western Spain. The East Algarve is not as commercialised as the West Algarve and is ideal for golf and beaches
Casa Caracois is located at the end of a 300m track just off the N125 road approx 50m before the Alfandanga crossorads (where N 125 crosses road from Moncarapacho to Fuseta) on the westbound side of the road heading from Tavira towards Olhao.
The turn into the track is a sharp one and is easily missed.
There is a bus stop on the N125 at the train station at Fuseta is less than 2km from the house
The best exit from the motorway is the Olhao turn off. Follow the road down through Moncarapcho and onto Fuseta where you can see the house (yellow) on the left before you reach the crossroads.
Local Amenities:
Alfandanga itself is a very small collection of houses but there is a small mini market, café, cashpoint and petrol station all within a 2 minute walk down the track from the house.
A little further away are Moncarapacho (5 mins by car) and the fishing village of Fuseta (2 mins by car). Both of these villages offer a wide range of restaurants serving fresh local produce, bars and shops.
The main towns of Olhao and Tavira are approx 10 minutes away by car and beyond Olhao is Faro with its major city facilities including of course the airport (20 mins from the house). Olhao markets are something to behold for any food lovers.
Local Attractions:
Beach – only 2 minutes down the road in Fuseta you can choose from either the inlet beach at the end of the fishing harbour or take a water taxi over to the main beach.
Golf – The Colina Verde 9 hole golf course is 2 minutes away by car. The more challenging courses of Monte Rei, Quinta da Ria and Cima and Benamor are approx 20 minutes.
Boating – you can moor boats for free in the harbour at Fuseta. There is a huge choice of waterways and of course the sea to navigate.
Bird-watching – The Ria Formosa Nature Reserve is right on the doorstep at Fuseta where a huge variety of birds and other wildlife can be found.
Cycling – The Algarve Cycle path runs straight past the front door where you can cycle all the way to Vila real in the East and Lagos in the West.
